Dr. Malaka Badri is a board-certified interventional specialist with a clinical and academic focus on pain medicine and venous disease. She is a well-respected, nationally recognized physician and currently serves as the Medical Director of CURA Vein & Pain Centers. As an interventional pain and vein specialist, she focuses on minimally invasive procedures.
A native of New Jersey, Dr. Badri is deeply committed to patient care. She earned her degree in Biomedical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, followed by her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she graduated with highest honors and ranked among the top of her class.
She completed her Internal Medicine internship at NY-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York University Langone Medical Center. There, she trained under leaders in interventional medicine, received the Resident of the Year award, and founded a Board Review Committee for junior physicians.
After residency, Dr. Badri pursued an Interventional Pain fellowship with the North American Spine Society, where she received advanced training in spine procedures, including minimally invasive skeletal and vascular interventions. During this time, she developed a special interest in venous treatments due to their connection with lower extremity pain, giving her a unique perspective in patient care.
Dr. Badri has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is frequently invited to speak on her areas of expertise. Known for her compassionate approach, patients often describe her as a kind and caring physician.
